Myotonic (Fainting) Goats

Myotonic Goats, also known as Fainting Goats, Tennessee (Meat) Goats, Nervous Goats, Stiff-leg Goats, Wooden-leg Goats, and Tennessee Fainting Goats have a muscle condition identified as myotonia congenita. They do not truly "faint" because they never lose consciousness. Myotonia congenita is a painless condition found in many species including humans, and is strictly muscular, not involving the brain or nerves. This breed is listed as "recovering" by The Livestock Conservancy of which we are members, as well as the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR), and The International Fainting Goat Association (IFGA). Please check them out for more information.
Miniature Silky Fainting Goats
Don't be fooled by the name Miniature Silky Fainting Goat. The name does not mean that every Miniature Silky faints, but they must have a soft coat that feels silky when touched. An ideal Miniature Silky resembles a Silky Terrier dog. Our Miniature Silkies are registered with the Miniature Silky Fainting Goat Association (MSFGA). For more MSFGA information click the link below.
Goat prices vary depending on animal characteristics. Most of these goats are show quality and would certainly be an advantage to any breeding program. They also make outstanding pets.
